well i have to say i got my exhuast put on today and its awsome. its a flowmaster delta flow 40series 2.5" in/out coming from the 1st cat out. it has a nice v-8 rumble at idle and a nice growl at speed and when ya stomp it it really growls and has a v-8ish sound with a raspy tone and i noticed better performance.
Congratulations! Enjoy the sound. Someday I may get a flowmaster if my redneck drilled out stock muffler ever gives up the ghost.

Did you have the dual mufflers put on your 4.9 six and it sounds like a V-8? Have you tested the mileage difference yet? I think my catalytic converter is clogged and I need to do something but would like the best bang for the buck. Horsepower and gas mileage...isn't that chasing a rainbow with only a few hundred dollars?
i had the 2nd cat taken off, then i put 2.5" npipe coming off the 1st cat to the muffler (single in/out @ 2.5") running straight out the back, i will have duals installed when i get the money. i love the sound, has a nasty growl to it and sounds like a v-8 at idle, dont let neone else tell u wrong. i have proof.
I had a gibson cat-back on my I-6 and it sounded as deep as a V-8 but not as rumbly, they are similar. I put a catco high-flow cat in my truck for 80 bucks from summit racing. 3" in and 3" out universal cat. Doesn't make it any louder but i did pick up a few. You won't see a fuel gain, technically you do but, you'll stomp on the gas more to hear it so you neglect any fuel gains you had haha.

I don't like the sounds of my gibson, too quiet at idle, and too 4 cylinderish at speed..... what should i do how does a cherry bomb from the cat and then a y-pipe with two pipes coming out one in front of each tire?
