New MAP sensor=HOLY CRAP POWER????

I work on buses for a living. We have International Series 40 530E inline 6 engines in them. I was told today that if I were to install a manifold pressure sensor from one of these Series 40 engines in my 2001 7.3 PSD it would "go like a rocket". Is anyone else familiar with this modification? I REALLY dont want to blow my several thousand dollar engine up, ya know?!! Thanks in advance, Aaron.

I wouldnt, map sensors are calibrated to work with the main processor, at the very least you will have a check engine light on, and I would be willing to bet, it wont even idle.

The MAP sensor won't have anything to do with idle. However if the PCM can't read proper turbo boost pressure, then it can trigger a defuel and cause you to lose some power during acceleration. Changing out the MAP sensor won't give you extra fuel either, so no you won't gain any additional power by swapping them out (assuming it works in the first place).
