I was looking at a 97 f250 4x4. 5 sp with a 3.55
it had Q4A as a spring code dose any one know what this means?
I have been all over the net for the last 3 hrs and I cant find it any where!
I think it is a canadian truck if that makes a differace.
The other thing is, dose it even matter, since the info seems not to be avalable. thanks to any one who is savvy enough to find this out!

That is the same spring code as my truck which is also a 97 F250 CC 4x4 with 3.55's. That being said I could never find what it means. I even tryed asking the local dealer.
Nice info Jim! Thats pretty much all those numbers are for. They are the code to find out what springs you need to order if you need new ones. All the weight ratings are taken care of with the axle and GVW ratings. Also follow the link that 1997f-350 gave you. there is a ton of great info there and in the menu on the left side!
What type of info do you want to know? Other than finding parts number I don't think the code "means" anything. I believe the "4" is a code for overload springs. my truck has a T4F code. t being the front spring code, 4 being the option for rear overload spring, and F being the rear spring code. Does anybody have factory installed overloads and not have a 4 in the spring code?
no that is mostly what I was looking for. but as far as I can tell the truck that has the Q4A code. and my f 350 has over loads and id TN I think. no 4 in the middle. it just seems the the Q4a is rather un common. so I was wondering if they were different in any way
Are you wanting to know the load rating of these springs? If remember right they're 2450 lbs a side. Thats what my '95 F250 had on them till I put 3300 lb springs under it.
