Depends on what kind of wheelin you want to do. LMC truck list a bunch of different springs for the Explorer, Ranger, and Bronco II. The Explorer springs are stiffer than the Bronco II springs. So the Explorer springs don't flex as well for some types of off roading. And depending on the springs you get and your wheel back spacing you may still need to trim to keep from rubbing.

I would advise the James Duff 3" suspension lift. It flexes well and comes with shocks. You will still need a drop pitman arm as you would with the Skyjacker 4".

they are a direct bolt in and will give about 2in of lift depending how bad you springs are

You aren't going to be able to just add springs. You can add a little lift but you need to be able to keep the camber in spec. If your springs are in good shape and you don't off road you will be able to put 31s on in stock trim, I did it with no problems. Really anything over 2 inches you will need to use drop brackets. If you need an inch or so you can find yourself some large washers and weld them together to make a spacer and install that under the coil spring. It won't take much to make them fit. If you don't want to mess with the suspension put a body lift on, you'll clear 31s without a problem.

i had an 85 bII i put a 2in body lift on it. Put 31x10.50x15 on 15x7 rims with 4" backspace. Works really well. No rubbing except in the most extreme flex situations. Mine had 4.10's with l/s from factory. Still pulled really well. I also had an 84 with skyjacker 6" lift and 35's. Very scary on high speed corners. I have come to learn that big tires with minimal lift works the best. Keep the center of gravity low.
