The only benifet to running any synthetic including Amsoil is extended change intervals. It is good oil but a bit on the pricey side, but it's your money to spend.
xtr is right, there are 20 different oils out there that are all "great" and will give extended life on any new motor. oils today are far advanced over a few years ago... if you want synthetic oil, o.k, if you want dino, o.k. either is acceptable, either will give fantastic performance as long as you change it at 5000 mile intervals to get any carbon, water, condensation, blowby, gasoline, etc out of the crankcase. it should be obvious that longer trips in a shorter period of time, in warmer climates will cause less of the above contaminants and therefore might extend the change intervals.
