Nitrous?
Is it possible to make a home made nitrous system? Isnt the nitrous injected in through the air and not fuel? All you need is a bottle, regulator, hoses and fittings and a solenoid. Am i missing anything? or is it just not possible

The typical nitrous setup, known as a "dry" throttle-body injection kit is probably what you're thinking of. And yes, the kits consist basically of what you just mentioned. The truth is that these kits are so cheap today that its probably not worth your time in fabricating your own... Nitrous kits don't really get expensive until you get into the direct-port kits and "wet" kits which require more sophisticated plumbing and jets to provide the extra fuel. By the way, don't forget kits include lots of other useful things such as the wide-open-throttle trigger mechanism, switches, and other bits... I'd say if you really want nitrous, just buy the kit. You can probably find the dry throttle-body kits for $400 if you look hard enough. And I highly doubt you'll be able to fabricate one for under $300, plus your time invested wouldn't be worth it.

More than a 100 shot on a six you'll want individual nozzles. The mix is just too uneven to go so with more in a plate system. If you've still got a 1bbl, you can call and ask if they have a 1bbl plate (or see about parts to make your own) but you really should consider a 4bbl swap first.

I know how you feel. If I ever get my lazy butt outside and finish my '85 (tonight its supposed to snow + sleet + hail + etc) then i'm planning on adding a 75 shot or so, just for fun. If that ends up giving me ~60 more hp, thats cool. Should bring the total up to almost 300 for a daily driver with enough lowend to turn the 33's on 3.08 gears 
Of course i'm also thinking of putting a ~30 shot on my motorcycle......

I've got a video of a street-ridden Hyabusa turbo'd to over 380hp. If I can get my 549lb bike up from 108hp to around 170 or so (cams, porting, valves, nitrous) then i'd be a happy man. Heck I might even toss in a big-bore kit (1100 -> 1428 cc @_@) and knock down the pistons so I don't get the huge accompanying compression and i'll be a very happy man.... Without the bigbore though, it would cost me ~1500 plus labor to get 170hp.
