Lining up engine mounts

I just replaced my motor mounts and was wondering if there is a way to make sure everything is lined up right? I have the tranny off to replace a release bearing so I didn't have the third mount to keep it in the same place.

Just leave 'em loose until you put the trans back in place. You may need to shift it F or R anyway. Once it's all back together, tighten up all 3.

Thanks for the reply; but it appears I have another problem now. I had to pull the head to check for what sounded like a bent valve binding but turned out to be a busted piston ring that left dents all over the top of the #2 piston. Bummer!!!!
