I had warped the rotors on my 04 in about 10k miles with no towing or hauling. Had them cut and the warped again. Sometimes the factory stuff just isn't good enough. Even cheap rotors out of the box can vibrate.
I have the same problem on my Trans Am. It's pretty widely known in the F-body world that the factory rotors suck. Funny thing is, a lot of guys buy a set of them on ebay for less than $200 and love them with no problems! Might just want to get a good set of aftermarket (i.e. not Ford) rotors. Most guys around here say powerslot rotors with hawk pads make a day and night difference.
Thanks so much for the response...I might just have to try that. I really appreciate all of the suggestions. PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING until "WE" fix this. Thanks
As a general rule, if you feel the shaking in the steering wheel, it's the front. If you feel the shaking in your seat, it's the rear.
But, rules are meant to be broken...
I have owned a few fords. Try hitting a train track at a decent speed. if you get a shimmy in the front it it gould be a set of 40 dollar bushings. Ford front ends for the win! I had a mustang that shimmied during braking and tracks it was just bushings. Stock bushing are ****ty rubber get some polly ones.
Sure sounds like warped rotors to me, I had the same symptoms and had the rotors replaced, it wasn't too much more than having them resurfaced. Good luck...

Thanks alot, I never knew that rule of thumb. I appreciate the response.

This seems to be an easy fix. I hope that this fixes it. I surprised no one offered the stabilzer bar or u-joints. My friend will take a more thorough look on Saturday, Hopefully it's a simple fix.

I was feeling the same as you. Don't forget with a lil over 13,000 miles I felt that the rotors should have been fine. The didn't appear to be warped upon inspection but, I had them cut anyway. If I noticed that the vivrabtion improved at all, I would have then replaced them all together. I just don't think that it is the rotors. ALTHOUGH, I INITIALLY DID THINK IT WAS THE ROTORS. I appreciate all the help.

I'd definitely say you got warped rotors man. I've seen this a bunch of times. I've actually done rotors on an infiniti q45 and took it for a test drive, same problem with the brand new rotors. Just for the hell of it took them off and got a another set and that was it. So you can't even go by brand new stuff all the time. And not that i'm made of money but in a situation like that i always just buy new rotors all around even if they look good they could still be warped and you won't know until you go down the road and you feel them vibrate. Take the hit and upgrade em Brakes and steering you always wanna make sure are all good. Good luck!

And that is why a lot of places who sell rotors recommend you have them turned after purchasing them. Rotors are heavy, and are generally stacked 10 or 15 high during shipping (from overseas to the stores here in the US). After all of that bouncing around while they are stacked, they are warped before they reach the store shelves.
F250 i appreciate the feedback i never understood why it happends but that def makes sense so thanks for making me feel smarter. I just always thought poor castings or inadequate lathes but your explination sounds good

You guys are the greatest. I took it to another shop today and that Mechaninc said the same thing. I forget to add, that my truck sits upwards of a month at a time in the off-season due to me having a take-home work vehicle. Plowing is my seasonal business. He stated that the rust build due to rain probably contributed to this problem. Thanks for everything guys! I will be putting new rotors on this weekend and we'll see if that fixes it. I'll let you guys know! Thanks Again.
I have a 99 f-250 I had the same problem, after 2 attempts to fix with ford rotors i went aftermarket to a rotor that was drilled so it stays cooler and also wagner metalic pads with last 2 numbers of the part are "ee" that has to do with how quick tha pads build heat "aa" being the worst.have had no trouble sense
Been there, done that! Once you get on top of this, which may include tires and shocks, you need to drive it weekly. The rust from the off season will kill the brakes (and some other components)
