AV Entertainment System

Does anyone have any more information on the AV Entertainment System that you can get in the SC in lieu of the Sunroof? All there is on the Ford website is a small photo.

I have kids, and a wife who gets bored easy while riding in the car. I thought this would be a great asset.

I'd love to know how it works, what comes with it, what you can hook up to it, what size is the screen, is it really visable from the back seat--or even the front seat?

Thanks!

You can get these installed at any truck or car shop that specializes in modifications. I got an estimate to have exactly what you are talking about for about 1500.00.
It's a 9" Screen only about an inch and a half thick that folds up into it's own case to the ceiling when not in use. And a small vcr or even a dvd. It mounts right between the seats. but its back far enough that the driver or the front passenger cannot see it.

If you have a "Best Buy" store around, they sell them. I don't know if you have to install. But there really shouldnt be too much to it.

Hey there!

Norman, OK here. Was on Ford lot this evening; saw Expedition with AV unit installed. Sticker said $1345. I know the screen is 6.4" with video tape, supposed to have video game connections and headphone connection. Hope this helps. p.s. Other salesman said it cost $2k Thanks, Chris

p.p.s. If you know more than this, I'd be happy to learn...looking for S-Crew in 12/01.

I would check out your locat car(or truck) audio store before ordering one from the dealership. I have two reasons for this.
1. Different than those who purchased it with their vehicle.
2. Quality could be much better, both for audio and video.

Pick up one of the many Mobile Electronics or Car Audio mags at the supermarket for ideas.
