Disconnecting rear entertainment system?

Disconnecting rear entertainment system?
Ok, here's the situation: Got 2005 EB with the factory rear entertainment system. I really hate having to jump through hoops every time the kids want to watch a movie and the rear AV takes temporarily takes over the entire audio system, which we then have to scroll through to seperate the rear AV and the front radio so the wife and I can listen to music up front while the kids watch videos in the back.
The kids NEVER listen to a movie through the speakers, always through the wireless headphones.
So.... the question is: Can I disconnect the rear AV system from the Aux port on the back of the radio head, and just have the Rear AV as an "independent" unit? (Plus it would free up my Aux port for other things like the XM radio module).
Thanks,
TX

You're right, thanks!
I think you be better off asking this question in the Audio/Video forum. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum60/
