Great pictures Terry. You sitting in the cab reminds me of my maiden voyage on a seat just like that.

Yeah, B/B you wait til you see the pic of me and little bro driving down the road. We're still sitting on milk crates, and holding the doors closed with our arms.

Nice pictures Terry, was the geo metro gauge cluster a direct bolt in, it looks like a perfect match and I was wondering if in the picture of you intitled goofing off the reason you ended up powering your truck with a chevy, looks like it blow the doors right off that old Ford. Just kidding we know the real story lol

Yep the Geo was almost a direct bolt in. The only thing I had to do was weld some tabs in the top of the dash on the 56 to screw in the shroud from the Geo. Then I just used a piece of plywood on the bottom to use the originaly screw holes from the 56 dash to screw it in. I screwed the plywood to the bottom of the Geo cluster first, then when I installed it I put the screws in from the front of the 56 dash. When I got the dash cluster from the Junkyard, I got the pigtails for the cluster and put it on my workbench and traced down every wire to make ALL the lights like the turn signal indicators and high beam indicator, and even the parking brake light indicator. I get alot more credit than I deserve for that mod, since it pretty much just bolted right in.

Great progress! I have to commend you on what your doing. Looks like the truck is being put together by a number of different vehicles. Great enginuity! Who would of thought a Geo dash would of fit in a 56 Ford truck? What the heck is a Geo? LOL...

Hey guys, I just put some more pics in the gallery. Check them out! They ain't in order and I haven't put any descriptions on the pics yet, but look at them anyway please. And ask any questions you want, I'll try my best to answer. Bear in mind that all these pics are 11 years old. The truck is done (sort of) for now??

Now you tell me!!!!

Who knew the Geo gage cluster was a perfect match for the 56 dash. Where were you when I needed this information? I hate it when this happens.

I should have started my truck 3 years later. Then I would have more good ideas for stuff. Sheesh!!!

Some friend...

(No, really, I like it)

The Geo cluster is from a 1993 Geo convertible. The convertibles are the only ones with the tach option in that rounded configuration, as far as I can tell. I had to take the tach apart and put the guts from a Ford truck tach in it. With the original Geo tach the engine wouldn't even start. The Geo's are 3 cyls and had TOO much resistance on the coil side and was like a dead short! It works pretty good now, but now I'm goin to change everything next time to a 56 Ford car dash. You know how it is you're never done!! You'll always find something you like better.

Looks great, really like the 2 tone paint colors. Now you got me thinking about my build and screwing off when I should be working.

Looks like you got yourself a winner! I'm interested about that Geo gage cluster, too. I didn't see it. I musta missed it somewhere.
