wire harness replacement
I want to put a new wire harness in my truck has any one bought an after market or replacement wire harness for there truck? I see that a universal harness goes for about $200 on most web sights. Painlessperformance runs around $700 and the one I will probably order from blueovaltruckparts.com is like $456 the one from blue oval says it has connectors to hook up to all original swithces does any one know about after market wiring harnesses?
Also bought after market gauges and dash panel from blue oval but now I have found the same exact stuff for $40 cheaper! Mad Mad Mad
Has any one rigged up an indicator to light up on the dash when in 4x4? I'm thinking of putting an LED indicator mounted in the shifter ***.

Does that company help pay for a website so that you can ask about your wiring? Im suprised Dennis let that one slide.

Yes BOTP is a sponsor.... But they fill a need for people worldwide that don't have local access to readily available parts.
That's one reason people need to do research before purchasing things.
FTE fills that void for people.
I go to swap meets with little cash in hand and always seem to find something for a bargain.

We have all sorts of stores that just want to get rid of OLD stuff.
We have CO-OP stores all across Alberta.
This summer, one of them 18 miles from here was having a garage sale.
I must of got $300-$400 worth of Hardware related stuff for $10.00.

Well the truck is a 77 and not really into searching for hours to find every thing so I usually search on the net and on here now. Then try to find the best and resonibly priced part. One thing that sold me on the wire harness from blue oval is it also replaced all factory wiring to lights new light sockets!

im interested to know if the harness BOTP sells is really as good as it sounds. does it have all the factory plugs? or is it like painless where it re-uses the original plugs? is it plug an play? or are some things not going to work properly? its very important to me that it will use ALL the factory switches, plugs and related parts. how about the centech kit? pros, cons to either?

Well when it comes in the mail and when I try to use I will let you no but I got lots of body work and suspension work to do before wiring. I want to get another cab or take mine and strip it to bare metal and repaint before I put it back together. And being I travel for work it will be a few months till I get to doing any real work.

Ok that one they got me for about sixty dollars. But yes i'm sure BOTP enjoyed! LOL
