First off hello again.
My truck has 341K on it and i am worried about trying to switch to a syn oil. Any opinons?
I was told that i could get a banks intercooler setup for my non-ic 95 for about 1200 smackers and that it would do me a world of good power and fuel wise. Has anyone got one of these kits on their truck and is the possibly a "cheaper" route?
also wheres the best place to get new leaf spring bushings?
thanks
energy suspension bushings i got mine from summit.
dont see why you couldnt switch to synthetic. you can get a super duty ic for about 100 bucks and a banks pipe kit for a couple hundred.

I was just told that syn might help. i am lucky to get 12mpg and with diesel out here in so cal round 3.50 to 3.70 that sucks. i was looking at the ic's on ebay and was wondering if i could get the pipe kit but that helps alot. thanks. any idea how much the kit might run?
i have the banks intercooler kit, check my photobucket in my sig for pics, it looks and works great!!! it's huge! but i got it ON SALE for i think it was $1387... normally it's over 1600... banks is VERY expensive and this is the only thing i would ever buy from them
Hey glasseater. i looked at the pix and you have a nice truck though i dont think ill stack mine. but i did notice that your front bumper kind of droops a little bit at where it meets the wheel well. do you have bumper spacers on there to clear the tires? i have 35" on my truck with bumper spacers and mine droops badly. it pisses me off...

haha funny story about that bumper.... when the truck had like 30k on it the tranny went while towing our snowmobile trailer to upstate new york and the tow truck driver didn't know where to hook it up to... so he hooked it up to the bumper and it bent it down... i'm thinking about just shoving our front end lift under the bumper and trying to bend it back
why we are talking about random questions i'm thinking about getting some new injectors when i get some time to put them in what would yall suggest if you were gonna leave everything else pretty much stock expect the turbo im wanting to rebuild it or replace it
An intercooler won't gain you much power (20-30hp) And unless your running a chip and have EGT problems you won't really need one. unless when you change injectors you plan on bigger ones. IC's can range anywhere from $250-2000 depending what you fabrication skills are and your parts hunting skills. normal installs will be $700 or so. thats assuming a Superduty IC (7.3 or 6.0) and buying a banks pipe kit which will run you $580 from here http://boyercustomtruck.com/index.as...OD&ProdID=2595

i think you mean won't gain you much power with stock injectors?? just trying to make sure it's clear for everyone
no even with aftermarket an IC itself won't gain you lots of power. With bigger injectors it will make the power you have more useable but still won't add much power. Just makes it so you can stay in throttle longer without EGT's getting too out of hand. its details either way.

i'm saying that with stock injectors running a chip it won't add much power (not any extra fuel to burn) while with bigger sticks and a chip it will add a decent amount of power (LOTS of extra fuel to burn)
I don't know for sure without dyno runs but I don't really think that an IC will add a ratio of power. meaning is will add 20 hp with stock injectors and add 50 hp with stage 1's. No hard data just what I am thinking.

well I don't have the brain nor the time to read that entire post. i have read parts of it before but to be very honest Gene is a smart guy but all the calcuations in the world don't mean a thing until its proved on the dyno. I think luke and gene's point was the size of the IC that matters.

true but when i used to argue with luke about this he kept comparing no intercooler to an intercooler (never specified) and by the results after my install i do believe that it helps A LOT and that it will be more of a ratio of how much it helps and not really a set amount...
