HD F-250 w/ 300?

I'm going to take a look at an 88 F-250 tomorrow w/ a 300. The guy who owns it swears its a HD 3/4 and the 300 is factory. Did Ford ever do this? I haven't seen it before if they have. BTW he wants $900 for it, only has 102k, looks nice from the pics he sent me...any opinions if this is a good deal? thanks

I have a 1990 3/4 ton f-250 w/ the 300-6 and the one ton rear end, I hear it classed as heavy duty...if this is what you're talking about, it is true. I'd say that's a good deal.

with only that many miles Id say 900 is a good place to start without seeing the truck. Once you get a feel for how the body is, I'd go from there. With a rust free body I'd say 900 is fair, and the more rust the more the price should come down. Don't forget to look at classic rust spots, i.e. cab corners, radiator mounts. As for the 300 at that mileage you can't go wrong. I've driven dump trucks with a 300 in it and it pulled fine. overall I'd say you might have a pretty good dael on yoru hands

They ran the 300-6 up to F600, so yeah, it's very possibly factory. I have an F250 C/S, and it's a 300-6 and c4 auto factory.
