95 f 250, check engine came on yesterday and could only drive 35 so upon scaning it it gave a code of 276 low side short to ground (g) cyl 6 the question is where is cyl 6 and what do we fix.... thanks
I would be testing that wiring with an ohm meter before you pull the VC. To test you need to get a digital ohm meter. As always I can't remember cylinder location! (anybody??) Any way each valve cover has 2 connector each with 5 pins
they will look like this
1 2 3 4 5
_ _ _ _ _
1 and 5 are glow plugs. 3 is common for two injectors and 2 and 4 is the low side for 1 of the two injectors. So i think number 6 is the passenger side second from the back. so if thats the case you will need to connect your ohm meter to pin 3 and 4. if you have more than 3.5 ohms you have wiring issues under the valve cover. if you have 3.5 or less your good under there and need to look at the main engine harness for chaffed wires.
Ok well 2 say driverside i thought passenger. majority rules! And I think they are right anyway!! Drivers side second from the back. The hard one to check!! turbo intake has to come off.
