What tranny will work

Okay, this might be a stupid question .....not sure.
Are the Ford AOD transmissisons from 87 thru 89 all the same?

The reason I ask I have a line one a good proice for a trany however, one is for and 87 F150 and the other is out of an 88 Mustang.
I have an 89 F150 302(5.0)

Whats the thought here??
Andy

Probably not. They became the AODE in there somewhere. You want the latest one from behind a V8 or in a truck. Some propaganda on these sites about what year core they use, etc. Note this trans needs a throttle position cable or linkage (TV or throttle valve) or it will not shift up/down properlyl
