I have a 1988 300 I6 F150. I have swapped in a 94' I6 from a E150. My problem is I cant remember if I bought a water pump for the 88' motor or the 94'. I busted a crack on the tank off the radiator & I don't know if it was because it was old to much pressure. My T-stat is opening & I am replacing the Rad this weekend. I just want to know if I need to replace the water pump again.
I noticed recently noticed on a few parts sites that they are separate part numbers. Any help would be appreciated.
not really certian of what your ? is
your pump should be what your drive system is
if your 88 has V belt then order one for that year
if you used the later model serpintine sys then
you need one to match that type which
uses a reverse flow pump because the belt turns the water pump
backwards as compared to a V belt sys.
have them pull both pumps and compare if there are
any major differances
if not then I would go with the later model
just incase there were updates to the pump that are not visable
