I need help finding out whats wrong with my 1999 F150 it is making a high pitch noise in the rear of the truck only when I accelerate. The truck is 2WD and has 186,000 miles and a new transmission in 2004 and the truck is in very good condition. Does anyone know what I can check, or know what may be the problem?
Do you hear it going down the road while your cruising along or does it happen only when you get on it? I mean it could be a u-joint or pinion bearing or something else in rear end!

it happens when only when I accelrate from 1 to like 70 MPH but when I let off the gas pedal the sound goes away, but I do know it is coming from the rear of the truck
You can block the front wheels and put the rear wheels up on jack stands and then run the vehicle until you hear the noise. Then get someone else to run the vehicle until you hear noise and while you find out where it is coming from.
Be careful when you do that. Make sure the vehicle is firmly supported and don't speed the tires up to a high speed. It may not make the noise because there is no load on the drivetrain when the wheels are off the ground.

This would be what I would try. Be sure and have it blocked up very well. Safety first.
