The guy I purchased my truck from installed the wrong Generic Electronic Module in my truck and I need to know what part number to get for a new correct one. I looked on car-part.com for one but it comes up with about 25 part numbers for for a 99 4x4. Does anyone know how I could find out what part number I need for a 99 Crew Cab, diesel, Auto trans, manual 4wd, Power windows/locks. Any help or information would be appreciated.
It's the GEM behind the fuse panel under the dash. Basically like a Body Control Module from what I have read. The one in mine was for a 2001 with electronic transfer case and I had to modify the wiring harness to make my power accessories work for now. Also, when I shift to 4wd hi or low, I don't get any indicator on the dash to work. I looked at the wiring diagram for the different year models and it does change. Rather than change out wiring, I thought it would be easier to change the GEM to the correct one.
Interesting site but it still lists 4 different part numbers for 1999 depending on what the factory part number was (which I have no way of knowing). Thanks for the input though.
