concept bronco

Has anyone heard about the concept bronco? I think its supposed to come out as an 09 model but the specs I've read sound really disappointing. Whats your input?

According to Edmonds (they usually have the news on new releases for concepts) it's not scheduled for release between now and 2011. That could change thought. Maybe Ford is keeping it under tight wraps. I was just looking at the old concept photos today, and while I like my big Ol' 89, a compact SUV with the classic styling would be great to get back to. My only fear is that they'll use the power train from an exploder.

I read that artical before I even saw this thread. It looks promising but considering it was written in 2004, I don't expect the finished product to come out anywhere near that. I do expect a V8, but I'm betting it will be somewhat close to the Explorer. Ford does have a great opportunity to take on the new FJ Cruiser though. I'm going to wait patiently and see what happens.

The concept is sweet. It's closely resembles both the origional bronco, as well as the orgional scouts, both sweet "no nonsense" rigs. I just hope that Ford keeps on the path of the concept rather than turning it into soccer mom grocery getter.

That has been covered in threads here before. It is based on an Escape chasis, so don't get too excited about it's off road capabilities.
Remember the rock crawler concept buggy from Ford. That would be just alittle better that this concept Bronco.
This concept Bronco does not bring justice to the Bronco name.
