My guess is that since no one has heard about it in two or three years it has been scrapped or placed on the back burner. I would also guess the financial problems Ford is going through has something to do with it too.
Bronco concept was introduced over 3 years ago and since then Ford never said anything about production model.
Explorer sales are down so I don't think Ford wants another midsize SUV. Especially one like Bronco. It's just not worth going through all trouble for 20,000 sales of SUV that would probably cost $25,000-$30,000.
I read in Truck Trend awhile back that it was a go. The concept was a hoax however, the real bronco will have a full frame, be rear wheel drive, have straight front and rear axles, removable top and hose out flooring. Unlike the front wheel drive concept. Ford wants to go head to head with the jeep wrangler. They are sticking with the retro styling like the 66-77 bronco. The concept also had a diesel, ford has not commited to the engine choice, but said they would like to have a V-8 option like the old one. It should be out by 2010 according to TT mag.
