that's what i figured it was for but why would i put a boost gauge before the intercooler... the point of a boost gauge is to measure MANIFOLD pressure not necessarily turbo pressure... i guess i could always throw another boost gauge in for fun though
I really like your set up, where did you buy the IC and costs? you should change your pyro to pre-turbo position. where did you put the tranny cooler?
the kit was from banks, it was on sale for the price of other intercoolers... about 1300... the sale is over now though, the tranny cooler is under the radiator, you can barely see it in one of the pics
and yes i want to move my EGT sensor to pre turbo but i was planning on doing that when i get a new turbo (may need a new downpipe for that so perfect time to switch)
By hooking the map sensor in the spider it lets it see the boost sooner. The PCM dumps fuel as the boost increases, the longer it takes for the map to read a boost increase the long it takes for the PCM to siganl more fuel: Thus the dreaded "BOOST LAG".
Move your map sensor, you'll be glad you did. Just ask TJ.

i don't have any more boost lag than i did before the intercooler... TJ is running smaller injectors, i doubt it will make much of a difference with my stage 2s... and if i did run the map sensor line to that point (which i might just to see the difference) then where could i put the boost since i want useful boost pressure readings not the pressure coming out of the turbo... and also if it reads boost sooner than it will dump more fuel than necessary earlier, which will be pointless... the air will not have reached the intake manifold by the time the extra fuel is dumping in... if i understand what you're saying correctly... it seems like it would do more harm then good... higher EGTs with no performance benefits... (that i can see)
