ok i have 35's not 37's it was a typo i just want to know where to find a programmer or chip I DONT CARE ABOUT GEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those chips are a joke. You get a slightly more aggressive initial timing and a slightly more rich a/f ratio. Then you have to run premium fuel. You can adjust the initial timing on your own with a twist of the dizzy.
Like it or not, long tube headers, e-fan conversion and gearing would be your best bet assuming the motor is in tune.
the motor is in tune i dont really want a chip i was looking more for a tuner because i know they work and i could care less about high octane fuel you can tune it to run on regular or high octane if i didnt know they worked wouldnt i have asked a completely different question? i just want to know where to find a tuner

Oh, so now you don't want a chip...just a tuner??
Not long ago you said this:

Anyways, what exactly do you want to do? The only tuner that I know of is this... http://www.tweecer.com/index.htm ...I don't know what computer you have in your truck but they may or may not have something for you. However, unless you have a modified engine, I don't see how you think that you will be able to make any improvements in the factory settings. There is no magic in tuners........all they do is allow you to compensate for things like changes in displacement, camshaft profile, injector size, MAF function etc. If you are simply looking for "more power" you are looking in the wrong direction hence the gearing suggestions.
will i have less friends if i say that "i agree with everything eco just said"
I didn't recognize him with his halloween mask on.. so you are probably safe.
And believe it or not, I'm of the same opinion, a tuner will not produce any appreciable boost in power. To make a meaninfull difference, more air has to pass through the motor. The best way to do this is change the air regulating device.. otherwise known as a camshaft. If that is a little too involved, then maybe a set of 1.7 rockers is more your style.
Don't take their opinions the wrong way, they're just trying to help you out and possibly save you some money.
Tuning software (such as SCT and Tweecer) would benefit you if you're running an automatic transmission. Changing the converter lock-up values, line pressure and shift points in a heavy truck with larger tires will help the transmission respond better; these things are not limited to timing and fuel changes alone.
Otherwise, with a manual trans, I'd suggest to simply bump the base timing up and install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator then find someone with a wideband O2 to dial in the fuel.
i already said i would rather have a tuner and i would never own a truck with a manual trnas just my choice i just wanted to know where to find a tuner thanks for the other options but that is my choice if i dont want to change the gearing i am buying a better cam also but i hate my speed limiter also i just want to beat the little mexico special edition civics and get sum better performance.
ok, i have a 1990 f250 with a 351 efi and i CANNOT find anything as a means of a programmer, tuner, or chip. any ideas as where to get one besides ebay, bad experiences with ebay.
A chip isn't going to do you much good. I'm going to tell you plain and simple. Not enough of your truck is run through the computer. The 7.3 powerstroke motors can have a lot of benefits from a programmer, but your truck wont. You need to invest in a more aggressive camshaft, exhaust system, and/or intake. 4.10 gears will turn the tires okay. But I'm going to go ahead and say put 4.56 gears in the truck. You might as well take our advice instead of ignoring it. The gears will put a LOT more power to the ground than you think a programmer will. You'd just be wasting your money getting a programmer.
Just realized this was a dead thread. Oops. But anyway, same applies to you countryford52. You'd be much better off with aftermarket parts. You could also bump up your timing for the EXACT same effect that a programmer will give you.
