I installed the quadzilla commander today. Everything is good except it only "turns on" if the lights are turned on. I'm almost 100% sure the fuse cap thingie is on fuse 45 like it calls for. Does anybody have any insight into this? thanks in advance.
The commanders have been known to have issues out of the box. Call Quadzilla customer service. They are very helpful and will probably ask you to update the firmware first and if that doesn't help they usually send a new unit. I've heard nothing but good things about their service.
thanks for the replies guys. I think I did tap the wrong fuse. I was told on another forum to count the slots that don't have fuses in them. So I think I'm on the 4th one over when I should be on the third one over. I'll check it out and get back to you guys.
LOL--after reading what you asked and what I posted I felt like a real dumb@ss. I guess I should have waited for my coffee to finish brewing this morning--LMAO.
Got it all fixed up. I basically reinstalled everything cuz I didn't like the way it looked and zip tied everything down. I had it on the 3rd fuse over when it should have been on the 4th. thanks guys.
Doubledee715, keep us updated on the commander because I know there's a few of us (or at least myself) who are interested in the Commander when it comes time for gauges. I've been very pleased with Quadzilla's customer service with my previous product.
I have had the Commander for about 4 months, nothing but good stuff to say. In my opinion, for me it was the better decision than going with pillar gauges. Nice and compact, easy to see, easy to install, easy to use/setup, and still retains grab bar. I have never had gauges, but could not see them being any better than the Commander.
It's been good so far. The only thing I've been wondering about is what happens to the screen when I turn the truck off. The info on the screen doesn't seem to "disappear" like I thought it would, it seems to "seize" and fall to the bottom of the screen then disappear. If that makes sense. Not sure if it's normal but it's been working fine.
