Duplicating keys

As I have already posted TWICE NOW...
On top of all that, a PATS key would have to have a program already on it in order to be reprogrammed. If it's blank, then the key is being programmed, not reprogrammed.
That's how my buddy got his second key, when he only had one.
Then I showed him the various ebay sellers who deal with PATS keys and he picked up two more keys, and after having them cut, programmed them himself.

Look, here's the deal. You can walk into a dealership with one working PATS key (we'll call that one working key Adam) and have the dealership cut and program a second PATS key for you (we'll call the second key Eve) and after paying the fee's incurred, you drive away with your original key, Adam, and your new key Eve, and they both work. They both start the vehicle.

If you read this in context, It does not say the dealer reprograms the KEY, it says he reprograms WITH 1 old and 1 new key. Bottom line, the point I was trying to make is the original missing key, the one the original owner kept or lost, will no longer start the vehicle, but it will unlock the doors.
and I see no need to continue debating something you seem intent on beating to death.........with all due respect........

When I correct your bad information, and also correct the manner in which you attempt to communicate information, so others don't get confused, it is not beating something to death. It's called providing correct, useful information.
Then you try and candy coat your attack with "all due respect'? LMAO.
No problem. If you're offended from my previous posts, that was never my intent. To me, it truly seems like you are confused on the procedure the dealership uses to program a second key for a customer, so I tried to help you understand how it works. But I guess I failed, judging by your last post.
It's not the first time I've failed, and it won't be the last.
Ah well, I'm sorry I ruffled your feathers bro.

es here........
Take Care
I programmed the FOB myself -- too easy.
The key I had cut at a local hardware store for $1.
Then I had the local dealership program (the PATS Module) for $98.
I thought that was bit if a rip, but what are you going to do? I think that included one hour of labor.
I will buy another key, just for a spare and program it myself.
