I was out cleaning my truck today and looked at the large Ford Emblem on the grille. It looks like the "clear coat" or protective covering on the badge is flaking off. Has anybody had this problem before? Is it covered under warranty? If so, can they just replace the badge, or do they have to do the whole grille? Thanks!
My 2005 f350 emblem has the same problem and was there when I bought the truck used last March. I suspect that it has been hit by a stone and opened the emblem up to water penetration and probably not covered under warranty. If you have good luck with the dealer please post.
I dont know about the middle "Ford" blue oval grille emblem. But, several guys here have had problems with the id badges on the fenders/tailgate. On the 3rd link down, that guy has the same problem you have.

Thanks for the links. I know the fender/tailgate badges are covered (I'm actually taking my truck in to have one replaced). I wasn't sure if the front grille emblem is though. I have looked a little and am having the same problems the OP in the 3rd post is having with finding the right size oval.
I had my front ford emblem hit w/ a rock and it put a hole in it that allowed water to get in behind the clearcoat and fade the emblem baby blue. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warrenty. It just pops off from behind the grille. I watched the guy and it took him about ten minutes.
