My wife's been telling me her Escape's been making a "niose" for months, but I've never heard anything but the standard nioses untill this weekend.
It's a 4x2 w/ 120,000 miles and has had the rotors changed recently. I was thinking it could be the CV Joint, but that's not the right sound. It's almost like the front left strut is loose, but there is no handling problems. Could it be a rotor floppin a round? Help I'd like to at least get an idea, so when I tell her I did hear it, I don't have to hear about it, U know.
we need more info on the noise, is it happening when going over bumps, like a knocking sound ?. The weakest items are the endlinks, they don't last too long and when they crap out on you they make a pretty pronounced noise over any sized bump. Good thing is they are inexpensive to replace and easy to do yourself.
I don't think it's the brakes because she heard the sounds apparently before
I change the brakes. Is a broken brake pad caliper obvious? Or is it something
that can only be found after tearing into the caliper?
The noise is there when turning to the right (sometimes) and bumps (smaller ones).
I'm not the daily driver so I'm just go off of my limited exposer and my wife descriptions.
