Hahha.. Not a PITA, but I've come to learn that some Ford Houses don't like normal people coming in and telling them just as much as they know about a 6L.. It tends to **** the Tech's off, which I don't see why.. Just because someone knows an engine but chooses not to be a Tech for a living doesn't make them any less of a man lol..

Okay I figured out what the issue is and you are correct the up down works fine in your truck but the left right does not correct?? If so the only way to fix this is to reverse the wires at your switch but then the left and right will be reversed, the only correct way is to dissassemble both mirrors and on both you will need to switch the common ground from the left/right and up/down motors. On the left side switch the BN/BU circuit #16 wire and the GY circuit #23,on the left side switch the BN/WH circuit#20 and the GY #23 and it should fix what your explaining. Both the up/down and left/right motors share the same #23 GY ground circuit so I am not sure if you can access the solder joint directly to each motor or not, if not you will have to chose between up/down or left/right pi**ing you off. Why they did this is beyond me and is obviously PFM..pure ford magic. AKA stupidity. I cannot print some of these schematics and the ones I emailed to myself are time sensitive-worked for a little while but when I got home it has a message that says "they cannot be executed".. '99-01 looks to be the same, '02-'07 is the same..

So I've been doing some digging but coming up short handed on finding info on wiring in 08 mirrors to my 06 truck. Anyone have a set of directions for what color wire to match on the new style mirrors to the older truck? or is an aftermarket mirror such as the ones from 1aauto as good as quality as the ford mirror. I've been searching junk yards and ebay. Factory mirrors for 08+ are hard to find, for a decent price anyway.

 

If you want power folding & power telescoping, Ford OEM is your only choice. Yes, they are spendy but ohhhhhhh soooooo nice.

 

I've got the later style on my 04. Contact Superdutyservice. Theirs are plug and play, no cutting required. Takes 30 minutes to change both sides.

As above super duty service has a plug and play version. I did not go this route as i did not realize they sold a ready to go Set. I wired mine up just fine to my factory wires and they work just fine up down left right all as they should be. Light and heat work as well. I have no clue why some guys can't get them to work properly. It did take a little time maybe 45min to get it ask sorted out.

 

I got a pair of those also, hadn't pulled my door panels before and was suprised how easy it was. Both mirrors installed in less than 30min..
