Headlights stay on! Help

I just got a 93 explorer with auto lamps and DRL. I had it out the first night and while sitting parked the head, park and dash lights came on by themselves and would not go out. I had to disconnect the battery to turn them off.At the time I did not have the rearview on the vehicle.Today I mounted the rearview mirror and connected the battery, lights were off until I started the vehicle then would not turn off. I unplugged the DRL module and the headlight would sometime be off but the park and dash lights would stay on. The high beam switch works but the indicator light is not coming on.(burnt out?) Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance

Pull your headlight switch and check the connector. Pretty common on vehicles of that vintage to melt the headlight switch connector. I had it happen in my 94 Mustang and I can see on my 92 Explorer where the connector is starting to brown. The Mustang did goofy stuff with the lights when that connector melted.

I pulled the dash apart tonight and the headlight switch and connector look good. I pulled the 2 relays for the autolamps and everthing seems good for now. I will have to figure out what is energizing the relays if they keep working. It started with the mirror disconected so it must be wiring in the dash some where.
