2000 explorer stiff ride
my wife still find something to complane about.. of the stiff ride,
back when we first purchased it I told her well atleast we know it doesn't need shocks! we did put a new set of uniroll Tires on it and the air presure sugest 45lbs. although this made it ride even more firm so I let the air back down to 32lbs. but each time we take it back to have tires rotated they inflate them back to 45lbs, this last time the
tire business told us we should leave the air allone in order to get proper ware from them and for the warranty to be good.
Now I have had the suspention checked out and everything looks good, the explorer has not been set up with a towing hitch or towing package,
My question is? does anyone else have the same issue with the firm ride of there explorer? this thing actually ride more firm the my super-D 250 does...
The shorter wheel base of the Explorer as opposed to your F-250 HD will cause a harsher ride. Explorers used a lot of different spring rate torsion bars. This will cause a harsh ride as well.
Look at the sticker on the door and post what letter or number it gives for the front.
A lot of people like Bilstein shocks for street driven Explorers. Or you could put Rancho RSX9000 on and adjust them to where your wife likes the ride.
