Well you definately threw a rod. I've seen a few complete 4.9L's on ebay for a resonable price. Good Luck

Happy Holidays

Man im happy.... well yes and no. but alright, this guy that i know has a 90 f150 with the 300.. he got rearended by something and the truck isnt driveable and it has 148k just like mine. so i told him id take the motor he said 300 bucks.. i was like WOW it still runs we hooked a battery up to it and it started and ran decently it need a tune up anyways. so he has a cherry picker at his house so we towed my truck to his house pulled the motor on my truck and i took the oil pan off and looked at it while it was up:-X23 definatly not good at all so then we pulled the one outta his truck and its in my truck but the tranny isnt hooked up yet im goin back ova tomarrow to hook up the tranny and see if i can get it runnin.. but it should be back on the road by christmas eve cuz im workin non stop till i get this truck back i miss it so much.. how is that for a sweet deal?

What has happened?

On the oil press, did you re-use your original sending unit? Just a thought but the one out of the donor truck might not be compatible. Parts store could look them both up and see if they're the same or not.

Don't ditch the old motor!!!!!!!!! Poke it away somewhere. Eventually you may get the hot roddin' bug. If so It'd be easier to port your old head, modify your old intake for 302 throttle body, etc. etc. etc. Then you could drop all that on a rebuilt short block and swap over in a day. When I looked for an intake the only one I could find was at the boneyard and they wanted 86 dollars for just the upper half.
