Take it to Ford for a hot oil flush. They pump the detergent in thru the fuel filter and out the drain plug. Cleans the oil pump pickup screen right out.
how would pumping it through the fuel filter help?
my old 86 bronco had a problem like this.. oil pressure would be good when cold, but when it warmed up it would drop to almost nothing, bunch of crusty crud in the oil pan..changed the oil pump when pressure went away completely..oil pressure came back for about a year or so, finally it blew a rod.. Does your engine make a "knocka knocka knocka" sound when first started cold? that is what mine did.. I always kept up with the oil changes on it.. sometimes would have to change the oil @ 1500 miles because of the horrible blow-by contamination..
that engine had way over 200K on it when it died.. i'd say it lived a pretty good life.
Maybe try a thicker oil eg. 20W-50.. that helped mine out for a while..
