IPR screen not attached

I pulled the IPR valve on my 2007 6.0 powerstroke chasing a HPO leak and when I pulled the IPR valve the screen did not come out with it. The screen does not appear to be damaged but it is still in the pump. Is that normal or could it be a source of a leak?

I am changing the IPR valve as well as the stc fitting, dummy plugs and standpipes, but was just wondering if that could be a cause of the leak or if I should keep looking.

thanks for the help.
