The VIN contains no information about how the truck was optioned.
Can't remember for sure, but I think the camper package is one of a few (if not the only) packages that includes a rear anti-sway bar. Best bet is to ask a dealership service department to run the VIN through their computer system and see what options the truck was ordered with.
You can get a build sheet from your local dealer what will list out all the options that were included in the original build, and it's prolly on the sticker if you still have it. Overload springs come with the snow plow prep package, which doesn't include a sway bar I believe.
I came up with three packages that included the rear stabilizer. Obviously, there is the package in question:
CAMPER PACKAGE (532)
Availability:
Not available with Pickup Box Delete (66D), Stabilizer Package (63B) or Heavy Service Suspension Package (674)
Includes:
Extra heavy service front springs 4x2 (2 Up upgrade above the spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen. Not included if maximum springs have been computer selected as standard equipment)
Heavy service front springs (4x4) (1 Up upgrade above the spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen. Not included if maximum springs have been computer selected as standard equipment)
Rear stabilizer bar
Slide-in camper certification
Rear auxiliary springs
NOTE: Salesperson's Source Book or Ford RV Trailer Towing Guide should be consulted for specific trailer towing or camper limits and corresponding required equipment, axle ratios and model availability.
And then, here are the two other packages to include the rear stabilizer:
HEAVY SERVICE PACKAGE FOR PICKUP BOX DELETE (539)
Availability:
Available on XL and XLT only
Requires Pickup Box Delete (66D),
Not available with Stabilizer Package (63B), Snow Plow Prep Package (86M) or Heavy Service Suspension Package (674)
Includes:
Heavy service front springs (200 lbs. Upgrade above the spring computer selected as a consequence of options chosen. Not included if maximum springs have been computer selected as standard equipment).
Rear stabilizer bar
Rear auxiliary springs

STABILIZER PACKAGE (63B)
Availability:
Optional on all F-250 pickup units
Not available with Camper Package (532) or Heavy Service Suspension
The biggest thing is the "Slide-in Camper Certification" usually a piece of paper in the glove box seperate from the owner's manual. Basically says Ford approves your truck to carry the camper.
Usually the auxiliary springs and rear sway bar are good indicators. I want to say that the snow plow package came with aux springs too, but not a sway bar. In theory, and I don't knwo if it could be ordered as such, the snow plow package would get you aux springs, and stabilizer package would get you sway bar.
Will the stabilizer package with the rear sway bar and the heavy service front springs cause a noticeable difference in the ride on an 08 Superduty F-250? I am considering a truck and the one the dealer wants to locate for me has the stabilizer package and the one I drove off the lot is identical to the located one except for the stabilizer package. I want to be sure when the new truck arrives the ride is not a lot different.
I ordered the camper package on my 02 f350. Got the sway bar and overloads. The front springs were V code. Snow plow pkg came with X code, which I have since installed. I was wondering if you could combine the camper and snowplow pkg, but I dont remember.
What exactly are the overload springs? I have the normal leaf pack on the rear and then above it there is another single leaf with a block to keep it(I'm guessing here, didn't measure it) about 3" higher than the regular leaf pack. It has frame brackets that would hit the ends of this single spring when loaded down heavily. I'm not sure if this is normal for the F-350 or if it's the overlaod spring.

The technical term is "Rear auxiliary springs", but most call them Overload springs. YES...you have them...and perfectly normal the way you described them.

I wouldn't think it will make that big of differance, either way its going to ride like a truck unless loaded. I have the camper package on mine. The only differance I have noticed with the stabilizers is it corners a little better than my buddy's SD with out them.

To add, the Overload spring is normally considered the big fat leaf at the bottom of the standard spring pack that doesn't hit the rest of the pack when the truck is unloaded, but will when it is loaded.
