neither, use a .177 bb from your bb gun, the ball bearing can get stuck as the bb is a tight fit

I used a bb; but the bolt would allow adjustments if you needed. My FPR pressure was ~40psi without the bb and ~70psi with the bb installed, so I didn't need adjustability feature.
Don't forget to clean the screen.
