Modded C code spring?

I've seen the modded B.

Has anyone ever modded a C?

Cool!

3.5 inches is a bit much. The Mod only gets me lift, not ride quality or weight capacity, right?

I'm looking to cure the wallowing in the rear without lifting too much.

That is what the pickup rear springs do for our EXs, fix the poor ride and handling. All of the rear spring mod work is all about increasing ride height to match the new taller SD front springs, the two short leaves used in the typical mod don't really affect the spring rate or capacity much at all.

Is there a difference lift wise between modified b and modified c codes, or is it just a spring rate difference?

So what I'm really after is to put Unmodded, completely stock C springs in the rear...

I'm still up in the air with the front end because that's going 2005+ Superduty coil along with a Cummins repower.

That would probably be your best bet to start out with- once you have all your changes done w/ engine and front end, then you can adjust the rear height to give the ride or look that you want (either with SD blocks or mod the springs.)

I have stock SRW C codes and stock block. The SRW C code already has the thicker spacers (like Excursion does). You can start with C's and either mod them or change to the SD block if you're coil swap is too high.

So if I stiffen up to the C codes in the rear, throw on my Hellwig Sway Bar and run around with the Excursion as it is in the front. (Stock V10, Stock Steering, Stock Springs.)

Will I be putting myself in jeopardy in any way? Make it more prone to rolling or oversteer?

How are you stiffening up the springs? I thought you wanted stock C springs. If there is a significant rake I'd expect some odd behavior.

The stock C code springs are stiffer than whatever's under the Ex now...
The Hellwig sway bar is also stiffer than the no sway bar that's under there now...

Lots of upgrades to the rear and none to the front.

The secondary rate is stiffer than what is on the Ex now but the primary has less rate.

Drive it that way for a while and see if you like it. Eventually upgrade the front when funds are available. It's not going to self destruct unless you race it.

Explain please.

I thought these were single rate springs.

Stock EX rear springs are all single rate packs, the Super Duty springs we use for these swaps are dual rate with various primary and secondary rates, that's part of why they give a better ride.
