The NDP have been leaning towards the green ideas. Look at Jack LAytons ideals when he campaigns its about saving the earth also. So I can see them trying to push something like this through to say they are ahead of rest of Canada. It will hurt a lot of lower income people that these are the only vehicles they can afford. Now getting the really unsafe and neglected cars off the road, alright. But quit going after the guys who do keep their cars up mechanically. Or better yet they better be ready to give lower income family's a chrque to help buy a newer car.

Yeah those silver spoon do gooders have no clue what it is like to try and raise a family on meager wages. They have no concept of the costs on the little guy.
They need to see what it is like to work and sweat and try to survive on the little wage they dole out. They need to do this for a few months with little guy bills and expenses and see how many of them fail because they have no concept how to live on bare means.

I hear what your saying about small families trying to make it glen, but I think they are usually provided with other options instead of making minimum wage. There seems to be a ton of help for a person to get better educated, so they wont have to work for minimum wage, therefore they should be able to afford a newer car.

Lots of fuel injected cars are cheap now a days. The unfortunate thing about that is most of them are crap compared to an older carbed car.

I cant see it either, but on that note ryan, alot of those farm trucks should be taken off of the road. My father has an old graintruck that should be junked, but he still runs it, and it hasnt gotten pulled off of the road, and thats running a holley even!

Well 2 of my Dad's grain trucks could be easily changed to EFI. The 65's M-350 300 and the 76 D-600 318. The 69 C-750 361 wouldn't be worth the effort.

Seems like you missed this from the first post:
I don't know if it would apply to classic cars or heavy trucks.
Most grain trucks in the past 25 years are diesel anyways.

Yeah some of them diesels out there are just as ineffecient.

I seen what you put in your first post too Nathan, you werent sure if it applied to classics, or heavies. I was just meaning that there are more problems then just light vehicles!
