Ive been reading through the older threads trying to figure out the best way to get this done..their all over the place with how to do it.
It seems the safest way to replace the radius arm bushings is to grind off the rivets on the brackets at the frame end of the radius arms, replace the bushings, and replace the rivets I ground off with hardened nuts and bolts?
Then, the pivot bushings,-how hard is it to replace these? do they have to be pressed out? and new ones pressed in? should these be done first? or after the radius arm bushings are done?
Anyone got a trued procedeure for this?
I did my pivot bushings after the radius arm bushings. I used the big washers and a 2" pipe coupling to replace the pivot bushings. I tried to press the pivots out but ended up using a hammer and chisel. Lube them and press them in to replace.

the pivots are a press fit then? can I use a big "C" clamp?
Both my radius brackets are held on by nuts and bolts. Just get some good strong nuts and bolts and they will hold as well if not better than the rivots. If you are replacing the brackets, just heat up the head of the rivots and chisel them off.

I was kinda concerned about using a torch on the fuel filter side
Ive got access to an airchisel, will I have a problem chopping at them cold?
You can get a cut off wheel for a hand grinder that works nicely. I used this on both the radius arm bushings and a leaf spring hanger. If you decide to use them you might want to get a couple though because they like to kick back and crack. Dont use it after that bc it will blow apart. They are like 1.50 at your local welding supply store.
