I have the same problem. Can't load an avatar.
The avatar I tried to upload was 60x45 and 1.30kb.
I thought 120x100 was the max.
I submitted a support ticket, and was told to come here.

Resizing pics for use as a possible Avatar here on FTE is a PITA. I resized, but when I uploaded the pic, it was a blurry mess. I have Avatars on other sites, and I didn't have to resize anything to upload them.
