The injectors have to come out. The first time it would take most people 6 hours or so to do. average hand tools are needed plus allen wrenches and a torque wrench capable of at least 12 ft lbs.

You should be able to tell if they are bad due to a bad idle. However, most of mine were shot and it still idled fine. It smoke like crazy at startup and would not rev passed 2500 when not in gear.
