EFI Swap

Planning on transplanting a late 80s early 90s EFI 5.0 or 5.8 with an AOD into a 72 F100.

Any good sites on this, or anyone here with any experience in this? Looking for any dos/don'ts.

Make sure you get all the electronic components on the engine and transmission and transplant them with the engine!!!! There are some stand alone systems, but they're quite expensive. Oh yeah, if your memory is half as bad as mine, lots of pics with a digital camera and downloaded onto your computer will really help you remember where everything goes!!!!

Where would be a good source for the engine perches/mounts and the transmission mounts?

James, the link below is to good site for anyone dealing with Ford EFI and especially helpful for anyone doing an EFI swap. They have harnesses available as well.

Also, be sure to stop by the 221/260/289/302/351W forum here on FTE, lots of folks in there who are very knowlegable about EFI on these engines and EFI swaps.

dhglaser, for perches I usually hit the wrecking yards. The 302 was available in later Dentside trucks and the perches will swap right into a bumpside. Mounts are still available new from most parts stores.
