The Z series will be discontinued by Pioneer this year. The reason cited was poor sales probably due to initial cost. The D series will become the flagship model for their Nav systems. If you have a Z, now would be the time to sell it if you're on the fence.
As far as theft deterents..I have seen some enterprising people get a stock radio face plate, glue all the buttons in place and either velcro or otherwise attach it to the Avic face when the vechicle is parked.
