I might just be paranoid, but I think my fuel pump is being loud. When the truck is idling, you can hear the pump whine in the tank. It sounds like its spinning as a fuel pump should do... but should i be able to hear it so loudly?
please tell me i have superhuman spidey sense hearing or something like that, cuz i don't want my truck to be hurtin.
Don't worry Rhetor, mine makes the same whine. Heck I even hear it in the cab sometimes when it pressurizes the fuel rail right before I crank the engine. I think it is one of the famous Ford noises kinda like the power steering pump.
Mine has whined for the past 4 years. Some days it's loud - some it's quiet. I've run the tank BONE dry more times than I can count, and it's still working strong.
I don't think it's a Ford-only deal though. I've noticed it on a few Suburbans (Chevy pickups probably do it too then), as well as some different cars.
