Does the track bar and mount come from the donor? Is there any way you can mount the steering link higher on the axle? Looks like a lot of bump steer. Maybe its just because of the truck jacked up for working on it.
The trac bar came from the 78-79 donor. I had to fab a mount to lower it to keep it parallel with the drag link. There is no bumpsteer at all. As long as you keep your trac bar and drag link parallel there will be none.
also check out full size bronco . com (no spaces) they have a dedicated forum for SAS and have detailed pics, parts lists and everything. there are many different ways to go about the sas if running the Solid D44. it just depends on your fab skills and time.
if you wanna go D60 Cage has been working on a kit that allows to run coils which a few guys on FSB are currently running. if you look in the back of a 4wheel mag and see the cage Add there is a white bronco with the rear tire being lifted by a fork lift. that guy has the cage D60 kit and is an FSB member.
http://fullsizebronco.com You are right about fullsize bronco.com having a lot of info on SAS. I found this info usefull because I will be doing this shortly with a dana 60
I sure want to keep the coils. I have a brand new set of 6" superlift coils that I havent installed yet. I just found out about the cage setup. I'm interested in it. I still have to find all of the running gear. I figure I'll find a 78 or 79 F250 and pull the running gear out, install 5.13 gears and detroit lockers front and rear. That should give me a pretty bulletproof setup. Any other suggestions.
an f250 wont have a D60 just so you know. it would be a leaf spring D44. find a bronco or f150 coil spring front end would be the easeist swap and wouldnt require the cage setup.
I'll look around untill I find a dana 60. I just can't see swaping in a 44 in place of the ttb. I have put my ttb thru H@#$ and havent broke anything....yet. I have severa; 44's from a 78-79 bronco. I just dont want to use them in a sas. I really want a 60 in front and a 70 or 80 in the rear. both locked with a detroit.
