[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-17-03 AT 09:53 AM (EST)]It is on the passenger side, under the hood between the battery and the a/c. It is black, thin and looks like some kind of a blower. It has a hose that runs in from some kind of egr tube and out into the fenderwell connecting to nothing. It has a 2 or 3 wire harness plugged into it.
What is this stuipd looking thing, and can I get rid of it???
Also, if I put the plate in the EGR valve can I get rid of any of this tubing? I have never seen a vehicle with so much emissions junk.
Since I live in Phoenix I do have to get emissions tested, but shouldn't I be able to pass with the cats and an EGR valve on even if it is just there for appearance??
Interesting...I wonder if mine even works. Anybody ever take theirs off? If so, what were the results?
O.K. so if my air temp here in Phoenix is 115*-120* and the pavement is at least 180*?, combined with engine compartment heat... I'm not sure what the benefits of blowing near 200* air on them is.
i think that the injectors will fry much quicker if they don't have the cold fuel running through them to cool them off. Once you turn off the engine, they absorb the heat from the block and fry.
My 1989 F-150 4.9 Litre has one.....It runs most of the summer, After the engine warms up, Runs while driving,
Runs about 30-45 minutes AFTER I shut it off too!!
