sx's will be ur best bet. VERY tough skins. but need to be run at VERY low psi. like around 10, maybe less depending on the weight of ur truck. also, they can benefit from heavy grooving. they are expensive, but will do exactly what ur looking for.
also, if theres ever going to be any type of snow, look into a radial. it will outperform a bias ply all day long, and at a higher psi.
Well it does snow occasionally but that is really not a factor. What is a factor is the weight of the truck. It is a F250 Heavy Duty. I have a toolbox and piperacks on it still. The racks act as sweeps when I go through the trees....keeping the limbs from hitting my windshield, etc...
Anyway, I also use the truck for firewood sometimes. Should I be considering a radial tire then??? I am not a rock crawler...this is a ranch truck. I do go way way off road however but I rarely air down to anything lower than 18-20psi.
um..well..if snow isnt an issue. stick with the SX's. u wont be dissapointed.
im running 38-14.50-15's on a toyota/v-8.
it goes just about ANYWHERE i point the wheel. but my buddies with radials outdo me in the HEAVY snow on a regular basis.
but as far as toughness..there is none better.
boggers have a very thin carcus, and ive seen/repaired MANY that have been punctured by rocks, or sticks. and not to mention u dont ever want to run boggers on a slick sidehill...scary times!
another option would be the irok, but again they have a thinn(er) carcus. but go VERY well. im considering them for my next build.(amigo)
I assume that the TSL/SX's have a much tougher skin than the boggers, correct? Because where I live the hills are a mix of loose topsoil, clay, and sharp shale rock.

yep, for sheer toughness, i dont think u can beat the SX's.
but get a good grooving iron. i grooved mine after they were already about 50% tread. oh man what a difference, like putting on a new set.
it prob wouldnt be as noticable on a NEW tire, but once worn in, groove them and they come ALIVE again.
SXs arent that much tougher than a bogger, generally same plys and materials. The SXs extra material that protects them better is in the wrap around side wall lugs. The size I recomended, 36x12.5-16s are even better because they are 10 ply, 6 ply side wall, higher load rating, and can be run at 50-60 pounds if you want. perfect for a heavy truck. I dont think you'll be dissapointed with the SXs, just go get them already! Oh and like ynevada said, A grooving iron (as well as a siping tool) are good tools for your tool box. Ive seen friends regroove swampers that look almost totally wasted and bring them back for more.
