I just put new headers on my 74 f100 with a 390 in it and I also had the heads reworked and now when running the headers shoot a flame out every now and then what would cause this and how can i fix it?
Is it just when you decelerate?
sounds like a buildup of raw fuel that is being ignited in the exhaust system.
It is common to see the `exhaust` flame due to Valve Overtlap in Racing engines.
i hope you don`t have a valve that is hanging up

Changing the meetering rods can make a Dramatic difference. rods about 8.00 per set and jets run about 5.00....
takes about 3 min to do the rods!!
