Its finally getting into the time of year where I can work on my truck. In the summer its pretty frooshing hot out here and all my weekends are tied up with other things.
I'm hoping to make a start on my interior pretty soon (that was my summer project)
Enjoy the cookies (but be careful, when you dunk them the little chocalate chip pieces fall out and build up in the bottom of your frosty beverage.....not a problem overall just don't use a clear glass...its unsightly)
I see them now and they look great, I don't know what happened but they suddenly appeared. Are you doing the diff and rear suspension the some colour?

no the rearend will be frame colored. I was told that with all the oil/grease in the rearend over the years, you could never get it all out. When the oven got hot all the seams that had been holding it would let it all run out and the powder wouldn't do well... so not taking a chance I decided on frame color (dark Gray metallic)
we've got tornado warnings out tonight. Alabama, if you don't like the weather wait a minute !

Don't mention tornadoes. We had a round of them yesterday, 3 of them sighted at one time. I think I ran right through the middle of one, it was raining so hard I couldn't have seen it! Had a 8' extension ladder on the ladder rack and the wind broke a 1" ratchet strap and blew my ladder away
Buddy of mine does powder coating in his garage, with an electric stove. I have been looking for a stove, missed one by minutes, when we had our town cleanup - big truck from one of the appliance used/repair places, picked them all up! P*$$ed me off!

I'll find one, though.

Yeh, for the little things I want to do, a decent $30 toater oven will work..
Just another tool to buy, learn and maintain!..
I already have the oven and the powdercoat gun, setting it all up hasn't reached the top of the priority list quite yet.
If you live in a municipality that provides garbage disposal and/or recycling service, call them and find out where people take "white goods" (appliances) for disposal. Go there on a Sat or Sun if open, and I'll bet you can pick up a free working oven from someone bringing one for disposal (especially if they have to pay to drop it off) before the day is out. A lot of times the cooktop is not working or they are simply remodeling. Just make sure it's electric not gas.
I got mine from someone who moved into a new house and the wife didn't like the color in her new kitchen, it was like brand new, and they even delivered it!
I guess a residential oven would work ok. We used to "bake" our powder coated parts in a 12x6x8 oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes. Cook times vary a little bit depending on size and density of parts. We did a lot of 2" diameter steel rod shafts and with 20" diameter cast iron sprockets on the ends, and lots and lots of sheet metal and thin wall tubular frames.
You really can't put too large of a part in a residential oven. You have to suspend the parts as well or the powder flows onto the rack.
Hey AX, what did you have to pay, if you don't mind me asking, for the powdercoat rig? Did it come with it's own DC power supply?
As you can see, even with the small drawbacks, the wheels are starting to turn in my noggin.
