I recently purchased a 2X4 Factory ford aluminum intake. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what Holley carbs will fit this. He said it is from the mid 60's. Part #'s would be a great. Thanks for any help!
Well, the smallest 4 barrels Holley makes is 390 cfm in a 4360 style. They are for a 2X4 tunnel ram. You'll have to de-choke one carb and find your own linkage. It still sems a lot of CFM for small block. I don't see what value it is for a truck. They are for high rpm engines. Take a look here at it.
I agree. That woulda been my choice as I like the way Carters tune and the fuel is on the sides of the carb, but he did ask for Holley info. I was indeed going to mention those Edelbrocks since they are a revived AFB, but I forgot. (it's the gray hairs, ya' know)
Did the tunnel ram manifolds sideways mount the twin Holley's? I can't remember. I do remember seeing them mounted that way, but I forget on what.
Thanks alot for the help guys!! I think i'll go with the edelbrock carbs. I was looking at them on the Jegs website and they say there made for 2X4 setups. The holleys all look to big. The motor is going in an 87 cougar and for some reason i had to have a 2X4 setup. (Look cool!!) I ran my setup on my desktop dyno and the motor made over 300 ft lb of torque from 2000 to 6000 rpm peaking at about 350 ft lb. Pretty flat curve. Should work well on the street i hope. Thanks again Lance
