studded snow tires

Sounds like a good deal dude! I've heard its important on the AWD Aero that all 4 tires match in size which these do as they're a set These are only a little narrower than stock so should be no prob with rubbing.
If you wanna get em cheaper- ask if the price is negotiable, and if they's take like $60? or $80? (you choose silently, then let them talk you back up from whatever you say).
Its handy to have an extra set of wheels too. I'm gettin ready to enjoy my 1st real winter with my Aero AWD as I've moved to Iowa. I've a set of snow tires I bought used too and will put them on some old Ranger alloys I have..

great if you have lots of snow
miserable ride and NOISY with 4 studs all around in a boom box van
also very poor braking on bare pavement with 4 studs
i have 4 mounted 15" aggressive lug mud/snow tires for the Aero. never use them, noisy and rough ride
care chains and love it, got 4 for all around but have never had to chain up the front, she goes. over White and Snoqualmie when the semis weren't even moving. never spun a wheel with the great AWD system in the Aero

For my 2 cents, with an AWD Aerostar, as long as you have good, near new tread with a M+S tire rating (radials) you will be fine. The weight of that 4.0 V6 will give you plenty of traction on your drive wheels.
That "singing" with studs on dry winter roads would drive me crazy, especially at freeway speeds.
The only way I'd use studded snowtires if I lived up in the mountains where you can get white out blizzards, and you only drove the Aerostar in heavy snow conditions. Then I'd say okay to studded snows...

I found a good deal on studded tires for my jeep but wanted to use them year round. I used a pair of long needle nose pliers and pulled/twisted all the studs out of the tires. It took me about an hour but I ended up with some really nice rugged snow tires that I can use year round for about $15 (yard sale). 2-Years later they are still very nice.
Tip: the studs pull out if much easier if the rubber is wet. I found spritzing with WD-40 worked wonders.
